I Stand Corrected and an Happy!

Two week ago I suggested that it would be nice if the new solar facilities being built could be utility owned. A friend pointed out that MGE has done (and is doing) exactly that! I applaud this effort and believe it will be public opinion and good business sense that will drive this market rather than mandates and politics. It is up to us to let our utilities know we support these efforts. So thanks MGE and others for entering the market without mandates to do so.

MGE owns a 97 kW solar array on top of Middleton Police Station. Under the arrangement with MG&E, the City of Middleton can purchase the array outright in six year`s time. There is no legal barrier to prevent utility holding companies from investing in customer-sited generation....
