Lake Michigan water is the latest weapon in ongoing Illinois-Wisconsin border war


They`ve come for our jobs and our children. Now they want our water.

By all accounts, our neighbor to the north likely will be able to drain Lake Michigan of millions more gallons of water a day. Wisconsin needs the water for its growing industrial base and residential expansion.

Foxconn, the Taiwanese maker of liquid-crystal displays, alone requires seven million gallons of water daily for its manufacturing process, according to a story earlier this month in the Chicago Tribune. That amount is about what the Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency pulls from the Big Lake to service 12 communities, including customers in Gurnee, Libertyville, Mundelein and Round Lake communities...

Ken Notes: We treat Foxconn like they can`t read. They have to be aware that water abuse may be politically tolerated but there are many obstacles well beyond politics to actually releasing a harmful effluent. The political issues were in regards to eliminating delay in the permitting process. Trust but verify!
