held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to mark a $3.7 million project
aimed at reducing pollution at Bay View’s South Shore Beach. Good for
the county, but the fact that the beach was closed seven times in June
serves as a stark reminder that completion of the project can’t come too
soon... ...more Ken Notes: It is not as easy as saying the feds should fund it. We should be required to demonstrate need, cost effectiveness, and long term benefits as well as a funding source. We are in the dilemma we are in because we spent money we did not have on projects that were not well planned. I agree that the great lakes would be a very high priority, a great investment, with much economic gain and thus funding resources. So why not use this as example of how projects should be done responsibly. | ||
